Description

Current implementation of Ansible roles depends on use of Ansible 1.9.x.

In the meantime there have been some huge changes to Ansible, resulting in version 2. At a time of this writing, Ansible is at version 2.2.1.0.

In order to take advantage of new features and stay up-to-date, roles should be updated for use with Ansible 2. This will require some more extensive planning to deal with various changes.

The following should be done:

  • Plan the necessary changes to roles in order to be able to use Ansible 2.
  • Pay some extra attention to handlers that contain variables in their names. In particular, those can cause issues, and may need to be swapped-out for tasks instead.
