Description

Although still an LTS release, it is time to drop support for Debian 8 Jessie, since two more major releases of Debian have happened in the meantime, and the distribution is no longer in use by the Majic Infrastructure.

The following should be done:

  • Remove support for Debian 8 Jessie from all roles.
  • Optimise the role implementations along the way, dropping possible workarounds etc. for Debian 8 Jessie.
  • Make sure all tests are passing.
  • Update documentation, dropping references to Debian 8 Jessie being supported by the project.
  • Update role reference documentation.
  • Update usage instructions.
  • Update release notes.
