Description

Prosody server deployed as part of the xmpp_server role still utilises the old, legacy vcard module. This module has been considered deprecated since Prosody 0.11.x.

Prosody configuration should be modernised to instead use the newer recommended module for vcard storage.

The following should be done:

  • Update the xmpp_server role.
    • Switch from using the vcard module to using the vcard4 and vcard_legacy modules.
    • Figure out if any kind of special upgrade steps need to be taken for this change.
  • Update role reference documentation.
  • Update usage instructions.
  • Update release notes.
