Description

The common role deploys a custom version of ferm script in order to deal with some incompatibilities introduced in its later releases with the nftables-based iptables wrappers.

Currently deployed version is based off of package that comes by default with Debian 11 Bullseye. Once that release has been deprecated and dropped from Majic Ansible Roles, deployed ferm script should be updated to align it properly with Debian 12 Bookworm release.

The following should be done:

  • Update the common role.
    • Deploy patched ferm script based on package release from Debian 12 Bookworm.
  • Update role reference documentation.
  • Update usage instructions.
  • Update release notes.
